AISearch Pulse
Install Pulse yourself, step by step
Pulse is coming soon to the Chrome Web Store. If you would rather not wait, you can add it to Chrome yourself today and keep the founder price for the first 50 paid licence keys. The price is $99 AUD a year, billed in Australian dollars, so there is no US dollar exchange rate to worry about. Installing takes about ten minutes. You do not need to be technical, and you cannot break anything by following these steps.
The steps
Buy your licence key
Buy AISearch Pulse, $99 AUD for the year
Stripe takes the payment in Australian dollars (Australian billing only, no GST charged). Stripe then emails you a licence key within a minute or two. It looks like
AISV-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Keep that email, you will paste the key in at step 7. Not in your inbox? Check Spam and Promotions.Download the Pulse file
Your licence email has a section called Not installed yet? with a download link. Click it. The file is only available to people who have bought a licence, so you do not need to look for it anywhere else. Email not there? Check Spam and Promotions, or ask us to resend it at [email protected].
The file is a zip, which is one folder squashed down so it downloads quickly. It saves to your Downloads folder. If Chrome asks whether to keep it, choose Keep.
Unzip it
Windows: right-click the file and choose Extract All, then Extract. Mac: double-click the file. You now have a normal folder called
aisearch-pulse-0.1.1next to the zip file. Move that folder somewhere permanent, like Documents. Chrome reads the extension from that folder every time it starts, so do not delete it later.Open Chrome’s extensions page
In Chrome, click the address bar at the top, type
chrome://extensionsand press Enter. A page titled Extensions opens.Switch on Developer mode
Top right of that page there is a switch labelled Developer mode. Turn it on. This is Chrome’s standard way to add an extension from a folder. It does not change your account or your other extensions.
Add the folder
Click Load unpacked (top left). Pick the Pulse folder from step 3, the one that contains a file called
manifest.json, then click Select Folder. AISearch Pulse now appears in your list of extensions.Pin it and enter your key
Click the puzzle-piece icon at the top right of Chrome and click the pin next to AISearch Pulse so it stays in view. Click the Pulse icon, choose Already bought? Enter your licence key, paste the key from step 1 and click Activate. One key works in up to 3 of your browsers.
Run your first scan
Open any page on your own website, click the Pulse icon and start a scan. You get a score and a ranked fix list, so you know what to fix first.
Pop-ups you may see, and what to do
Because you are adding Pulse yourself rather than from the store, Chrome shows a few extra messages. They are normal. Here is each one.
| When | What you may see | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Step 2, after clicking Download | Chrome says the file “isn’t commonly downloaded” or asks whether to keep it. | Choose Keep. Chrome says this about any file it has not seen many times. Pulse is new, so it has not seen it often. |
| Step 3, unzipping | Windows or your Mac may ask to confirm the extract. | Allow it. A zip file is only a folder squashed down. |
| Step 6, after Load unpacked | A red message such as “Manifest file is missing or unreadable”. | You picked the wrong folder, usually one level too high. Go back and pick the folder that has manifest.json directly inside it. |
| Every time Chrome opens | A bubble reading “Disable developer mode extensions”. | Click Cancel or close it. Do not click Disable, or Pulse switches off. The bubble goes away once Pulse is in the Chrome Web Store and you swap to that version. |
| Step 7, first time you click the Pulse icon | A screen showing the price and a Buy button. | That is the licence gate. Click Already bought? Enter your licence key and paste your key. |
| When you press Scan | No permission pop-up. | Pulse only looks at the tab you press Scan on. Chrome does not ask each time. |
Is it safe? What Pulse can and cannot do
Here is exactly what Pulse is allowed to do. Each point below comes from the extension’s own settings file.
- It only looks at the page you choose. Pulse has no permission to read every site you visit and it does not run in the background on your pages. It reads one tab, the one you click Scan on.
- Your reports stay in your browser. Saved reports and AI answer history are stored on your computer, in Chrome.
- It has no access to your passwords, email or other tabs. It asks for four things only: to act on the current tab when you click it, to run its page checks, to save its own data, and to show a reminder if you switch one on.
- What leaves your computer. Your licence key is checked on our licence server. For the security, speed and malware checks, the address of the page you scan goes to our server, which passes it to Google. The questions you ask AI answer engines go to Perplexity and Google Gemini. We do not store the question text. The Privacy Policy lists every item, and Privacy and terms explained says it in plain words.
- No hidden extras. The extension’s code is plain readable files in the folder you unzipped. It is not an installer and it does not add anything outside Chrome.
- You are in control. To remove it, go to
chrome://extensionsand click Remove on AISearch Pulse. Your reports go with it.
Good to know
- Do not delete the folder. If you move or delete it, Chrome shows the extension as broken. Put the folder back, or repeat steps 5 and 6.
- Updates are manual until the store listing is live. When Pulse is on the Chrome Web Store you can swap to the store version. Your licence key stays the same.
- Your key, your data. Pulse does nothing without a licence key. How it handles your information is in the Privacy Policy.
